Marketing Communications Specialist

This position will require a pro-active, effective and collaborative communicator who is able to work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. This position requires a flexible, deadline driven individual with excellent attention to detail and good follow-up. Successful candidates will have marketing and events planning skills and proven project management success.
Description of Duties · Coordinate and execute an integrated plan of events, communications and marketing efforts for United Way’s affinity groups. o Create the tools needed to support the company campaign strategies – sample emails, PPTs, company event invites, etc. o Support the development of affinity groups marketing tools – website, brochures, enrollment cards, event tools, etc. o Develop stewardship tools – thank you’ s, welcome emails, etc. o Execute year-round engagement and ongoing communications efforts – multiple and simultaneous events, newsletters, print and web-based communications, website updates, social media, etc. · Database updates and report pulling · Provide marketing and communications support to affinity group volunteers and staff
Specifications · 3 + years of experience in volunteer management, marketing and events · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field. · Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects · Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through · Excellent communications skills—both written and verbal · Excellent event planning and execution skills · Customer service skills · Proficient with Microsoft technology and Knowledge of online sharing tools including blogs and user communities · Fundraising and non-profit experience a plus.
